Confessions of an Ex-Thief

I’m so sorry

For not being sorry

That I took things I didn’t pay for

And walked right out of the door

 

A classmate’s pen, my brother’s toy

Oh, I was a naughty boy

A top student’s answers, the teacher’s book

All things people overlook

 

Yes, it was probably wrong to steal

But having done that, I’ve learnt a great deal

It made me cherish the things I legitimately own

Now I will leave others’ stuff alone.
